George Carlin died recently and the world is a little less funny. He was clever, crude, scathing, sarcastic, but most of all he was funny. His career spanned five decades. Check out this obit in the NY Times and learn more on Wikipedia. You can find lots of his routines here on YouTube, but keep in mind that he liked to offend and provoke. If he made you think then he was doing his job.
A few quotes:

The future will soon be a thing of the past
“Meow” means “woof” in cat
So far, this is the oldest I’ve been
I don’t have a fear of heights. I do, however, have a fear of falling from heights
“No comment” is a comment
Lots more here. Read ’em at your own risk. RIP George.
