Looks like the contact forms are working again. Sheesh! Do you want to tell me something? Keep it clean (or not) and do it here.
And happy birthday to niece Sara (family)!

Aaargh! All of my online contact forms stopped working! That means the one here and also the ones on the Obsessed With Music web site. And that includes the one where you can enter to win a free CD! Damn!!! What is going on? Apparently my web host upgraded their version of PHP (what is PHP?) and now none of the contact forms are working. But I just made a quick fix to the CD giveaway script, calling a Perl (what is Perl?) script instead of the PHP, temporarily. Do you care? You do if you want to enter to win the UB40 CD ;-)

A few days ago the Sacramento Kings traded sometimes hot shooter Peja Stojakovic for volatile but talented Ron Artest. Have a coomment? Tell me here.

Am I blogging less? You are SO perceptive! I've been busy and we've been spending a lot of weekend time with those grandkids, loveable little tykes. The third one is due Feb2.

Today was one of Petra's follow-up appointments with her surgeon. Besides the fatigue, she has been having back pain for a few weeks now. Both this surgeon and the reconstructive surgeon are recommending a bone scan to try to rule out bad news. So that is what we will do, as soon as it can be scheduled.

We did go to tonight's Kings game and they struggled but ultimately beat their archrivals the Lakers! HA! I love it. It was a stressful but very entertaining game.

It's been a less busy week, which is OK with me. I could rant about George Bush's secret (not any more) program to spy on Americans without a warrant. He says it is necessary to be able to act quickly, but he is lying. He already has a secret (not any more) court that will give him a warrant for almost anything, even after the spying is done! So there is NO need to do it without a warrant. He just thinks that he is above the law. I hoonestly think he should be impeached. The Republicans tried to ruin Clinton for much less serious offenses, yet Bush lies to the American people and gets away with it. And breaks the law. And don't even get me started on that stupid invasion of Iraz and the thousands of dead and wounded, in a war that even our own military had doubts about winning. And winning what? The country is now close to civil war and much of the world hates us. But King George is so unwilling to admit a mistake that he instead tries to ruin anyone who speaks out against him. Witness the recent Republican attacks against Muthra, the honored, hawkish veteran who admitted that we made a mistake and should start getting out of Iraq. And, if that wasn't enough, now they are appoint a extreme right-wing judge to the Supreme Court for life, even though he would not answer the questions of the review comittee. Bush knows that Alito will help him get even more power, along with taking away womens rights and favoring huge corporations over the rights of us average folks. The phrase 'hell in a handbasket' comes to mind. Anyway, as I said, I could rant about all this, but I won't.
Pissed off about Bush's power grab and his illegal spying? Check out moveon.org and see if you can make a difference. And for the love of America and freedom, VOTE DEMOCRAT AND ALWAYS VOTE!! For real news and opinion, not that Fox right-wingnut crap, check out Alternet, The Huffington Post, The Raw Story, Democratic Underground, or Daily Kos

We had sold our Kings tickets for tonight's game but watched a lot of it on television. The Kings were underdogs against the Phoenix Sun, but ended up being them by around 30 points! Yow! This was a great and much-needed win for the Kings.

Today is the observation of Martin Luther King Jr's birthday. He did a lot to help bring equality to people of color, but there is still work to be done to end discrimination based on color, gender, race, sexual preference, etc.
Slightly off from "The Study Of Steven", check out the updates on Petra's Knock Out Breast Cancer web site.

The Kings won tonight!
- Saturday January 14, 2006 -
It was the daughter's boyfriend's birthday so we agreed to watch the grandkids and ended up having them most of the weekend. Cute little tykes. And friends Larry and Robin were in town for a Kings game tomorrow so they stayed here also. Six people, a cat, and a dog. And it was a good time for all.

Petra had less discomfort today but her back is hurting her. It's always something, as Gilda Radner used to say. On a different note, I went to the dentist for my permanent crown, to replace the temporary one from a few weeks ago. It went smooth but I wouldn't call it fun. But what an exciting web site I have!
- Monday January 9, 2006 -
Petra had an appointment at the reconstructive surgeon today. It was the first since before the radiation and today's insertion of one ounce of fluid was the first since then too. Since the skin was burned pretty badly and is still healing and not nearly as pliable as we would like, it was not a pleasant experience. In fact, it required therapy in the form of another dinner with (friends) Karl and Betty and, more importantly, some Margaritas!! And great food at El Novillero. So the day ended ok but Petra is having a lot of discomfort. Hope it is better tomorrow.
- Sunday January 8, 2006 -
We had the grandkids, Josephine and Jasmine, from Saturday afternoon until today. Cute little tykes, I must admit. Not that I like kids, though.
- Friday January 6, 2006 -
We went out to dinner at 524 Mexican Food with (friends) Karl and Betty. Tasty. And then to the Kings game, they actually won!
- Thursday January 5, 2006 -
Kind of a boring week. Or is that relaxing? Well, there was work, but nothing's perfect.
- Monday January 2, 2006 -
Since the holiday fell on a Sunday, we get the Monday off. Yay!
- Sunday January 1, 2006 -
Happy new year! Do you want to be on the very exclusive, very special, very wonderful, stevenology.com e-mail list? Just let me know here. You will get the occasional email when I update the site and feel like talking about it. Join now, boys and girls! It will give your life meaning far beyond your wildest dreams!
But anyway, the last guests left at 4:30 AM. Except for Larry and Robin who spent the night in the guest suite. I think everyone had a good time, at least I hope they did. When we woke up (kind of late) the next morning, the house was a mess! We had these poppers at the party that made a bang and shot out confetti everywhere. And we had a lot of them. You get the picture. But it was worth it. You can see some pictures here:
Petra and Steve took these photos
Larry and Robin took these photos
And did you know the U2 poll is still happening on the Obsessed With Music site? Over 170 people have voted so far...
